Cornell Experimental Ponds Facility

The Experimental Ponds Facility consists of 91 artificial ponds, large areas of emergent marsh and upland vegetation, and two large reservoirs within 160 acres of fully fenced land. The Ponds provide facilities to complete replicated experiments in aquatic environments and large-scale field ecology research. Contact: Benjamin Sterrett / bs756@cornell.edu


 

Cornell University Museum of Vertebrates

The Cornell University Museum of Vertebrates (CUMV) is comprised of four vertebrate collections (fishes, amphibians and reptiles, birds, mammals) housed in the Imogene Powers Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity on Sapsucker Woods Rd. The collections are widely used for both graduate and undergraduate teaching at Cornell and are nationally recognized biological research resources. Contact: Victor de Britovictordebrito@cornell.edu


 

Environmental (eDNA) and Genomics Core Facility

Environmental (eDNA) and Genomics Core Facility (EGCF) is designed to provide space, equipment, and expertise to anyone in the Cornell community who is interested in developing and analyzing variation using genetic markers. Contact: egcf@cornell.edu


 

Shops (electronic, metal, wood)

An instrumentation and electronic repair facility is maintained by the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics under the direction of Ronald Wolverton. Electronic instruments are repaired on a cost-of-materials basis.  

Woodworking and Machine Shops

If you have been assigned office or research space in Corson Hall, you will need to obtain keys from the Department Administrative Assistant. Keys to facilities other than your office space must be approved by the faculty member in charge of the facility or by the Department Chairperson. Such requests must be made directly to the Department Administrative Assistant by the hiring manager or the Chair before any keys will be distributed.
